Created in 2010 by Kevin Armstrong, the name of the cocktail comes from where Kevin used to live in London, E8. One day Kevin and his friend were on their way home in a taxi, when Sam needed to take a toilet break. As he was taken his toilet break, a man approached Sam and said "Give me your wallet", as he was going for the toilet. With his trousers around his ankles, he chased the mugger away! This is where the name came from...East 8 Hold Up.
